New Post: Can I Use A Flash Drive Instead Of An SD Card?

To do the initial softmod, you have to have an SD card.  After you get homebrew channel and all that installed, HBC does support loading apps from a USB drive instead of an SD card, however, my experience says that not all Wii Homebrew supports being run this way.  Your best bet is probably to install a USB loader for games that installs as a channel directly into the Wii rather than running from the SD card.

Does the entire path C:\Program Files\WBFS\WBFS Manager 3.0\Channels exist on your computer? From the google translation of the error message, I get "Unable to find part of path", which makes me think that it's having trouble finding one of the following folders:
-Program Files
-WBFS
-WBFS Manager 3.0

Don't know whats wrong. No versions will work. I've updated my java, and .net framework and flash player. done all windows updates. maybe I need an older version of .net framework?
Comments: ** Comment from web user: crzyn8me **

WBFS Manager uses .NET Framework 3.0 specifically, try downloading it from here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=31 and installing to see if that helps. Looking at the screenshot, I'm also wondering if its a video driver issue, maybe an issue with Windows Aero rendering...right-click on your icon for WBFS Manager, choose Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab and check the "Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable Desktop Composition" settings and see if that makes a difference.

Commented Issue: Temporary Folder Problem [6347]

Hi. I have had a problem with WBFS Manager 3.0 in that it wont allow me to upload Wii ISOs in order to transfer them to my USB Drive (which is only an 8 GB, by the way).
When I try to upload the Wii ISOs, I receive this message:
"Error(s) occurred while reading some of the ISO files.
Not enough free space in temporary folder, choose a different temporary folder with at least 4.8 GB free."
I've followed what it says, switching from the temporary folders,
*C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp
*C:\temp
Despite this, the same message constantly appears. In the past, however, I've been able to use temporary folder cleaner programs, which worked, but, recently, they've stopped working, thus disallowing me to upload Wii ISOs.
I've also tried manually cleaning out both temporary folders, but this method seems to not be working, too.
Despite all of this, I've noticed that WBFS Manager DOES allow me to upload Wii ISOs with very small sizes, ranging from 1 GB to 0.23 GBs, unlike large ones that go up to 4 GBs.
Please help me with my problem. I have an Acer Netbook.

Not sure if you're still having this problem, but what does Windows report your free disk space as?

Commented Issue: black and white games [6059]

I got a bunch of games from someone and and I also downloaded a few it seems the new games that I have downloaded all are in black and white anyone know why?? and they are not centered in the screen is this the games or something that can be fixed
Comments: ** Comment from web user: crzyn8me **

Black and white display normally points to a video type mismatch between your TV and game. If you're in the US, and the game ID for the file you downloaded has a P as the fourth character(for example, RGNP17), that is a PAL format game. Your USB loader should have a setting to force NTSC for that particular game.

New Post: Adding Game to WBFS drive, Says it completed, but game not on list

$

So this is my story:

First some stats: running windows 7 X86, using most up to date WBFS Mgr, have a 1 TB hard drive with a large percentage being a partitioned WBFS drive.

So I'm trying to add games to my WBFS drive, which already has like 40 games on it which are working fine. When I try to add games, I get a Windows Pop-up stating something to the effect that my WBFS drive (L:\ on my external hard drive) is not a valid drive and gives me the option to format. I close the popup window. During this time I do not notice anything funny going on with WBFS. After a reasonable amount of time, WBFS Mgr shows that it has successfully added the game to the disk. However, the game does not show up in the list of games shown on my drive in WBFS Mgr. Any ideas about what could be going on and, more importantly, how to fix this problem?

Thanks for any advice.

I'm not pirating, just a little shout before I post this.

Anyways, here's the problem I'm having. I try adding a .iso to my usb device with this program, everything is formatted correctly and all. I click "add to drive", it says it's adding. When it's done, there is a green check mark on the right pane and it looks good. But then I look on the left pane. There is nothing on the left pane, but it said it was good! I opened the partition manager for Windows 7, it said my USB device was healthy! What is wrong, why won't it add the games to my USB? I try booting up USB loader, and it says 0.00 gb is free of 4.00 gb, yet it says 0 games. My friend told me the WBFS manager shrinks the games, so it shouldn't be the problem of size. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Here's a snapshot of the problem: http://i.imgur.com/yjh9y.png

I had the same problem.  One possibility is your 42GB partition is not in a FAT format.  If it's in NTFS it wont let you.  Make sure you do this.  If that doesn't work, then i ll need more details in order to help you.  Also, make sure the WBFS partition is the primary one of the hard drive.  Other wise the Wii wont recognize it even if you have WBFS successfully formated on the 42GB with games and everything.  If your unsure how to do this, go to http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm  and you can download the free version of Easeus Partition Manager.  WARNING IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING WITH THIS PROGRAM YOU CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER.

Thanx zmanium, that was exactly the problem. This is an old post and I've already resolved my formatting issue. My XP Pro system wouldn't format into FAT. I had to use another program. Once it was formatted correctly, everything went smoothly. Thanx for the input.
